With only 3 weeks left of summer break, I have to find an answer to this question fast. I’m still leaning towards “no”, but with friends and family left and right hopping on board, is it only a matter of time?
This week’s Facebook tempters:
DW: We had a discussion about how he used FB to keep in touch with people from high school. I countered with the argument of “If I wanted to keep in touch with someone from high school, wouldn’t I have done so without Facebook?” He continued to push and I understand most of his points, but I fear that it would consume even more of my time. I already spend too much time looking for new iPhone apps as it is. Facebook would ruin me.
UB: Apparently, he found out that my cousin E was not able to attend my wedding through Facebook. This prompted a mini-baby-drama-mama with my mama as she said “Will I need to get Facebook to keep in touch with family matters?” Hopefully not, mum, or else I will be completely out of the loop.
Facebook Fives: I like the sarcasm contest in this Red Eye feature so much and would like to try my hand in writing, but in order to do so, you have to have an account on guess what?
iPhone Facebook app: That’s right. I even used Facebook in my decision to get that iPhone. I figured that if I ever did get sucked into the FB world, I’d have immediate access and gratification with that slick app.
My only question is: Is the user name Chanatown already taken?

I just got sucked in myself when I started talking to some old high school classmates. I don’t even have a picture up yet. LOL
@PerfectVirus,
Thanks for leaving a comment. As an update, I made it through the summer without starting an account. Having a blog really helped, and I’ve enjoyed writing posts for the past few weeks. I can see the benefit of reconnecting with old high school chums, so perhaps, I’ll revisit the issue again next summer. Until then, no facebook for me. DC
